- Very inexpensive bullet
- Mass produced in the Union
- Is easy to reload, and proven lethally accurate over long ranges
Repeating Rifle
- Rifle isn't actually "repeating," but is capable of firing bullets in succession, rather than reloading after each one
- Rifles were also made into Carbines, which is a smaller and lighter version of the rifle
- Bullets are .52 inches
Muskets
- Low range weapon
- Barrels are Smoothbored, meaning the bullet does not spin as it leaves the gun
- Considered better than rifles, because the smoke charge makes it hard for enemies to aim at them after a musket is fired
