Ironclad Ships
- Ironclads were designed for several roles, including as high seas battleships, coastal defense ships, and long-range cruisers.
- Both the Union and the Confederates used the Ironclad Ship.
- John Ericsson invented the ironclad ship.
Trench warfare
- Soldiers would dig trenches and get into them to avoid enemy fire.
- Trenches had often poor conditions and many soldiers died from diseases because of the poor weather conditions and the rat's.
- Trench warfare was first used in World War I.
